Treating Borer beetles in Northland
Making sure those pesky borer beetles are treated before emerging from their winter hideaways is the easiest way to get rid of them for good. If you think you might have borer living in your wooden house boards, then right now is the best time to strike – before they begin flying in the summer warmth. Borer beetles start flying between the months of October and March, so treating your house before their flight season starts will give you the best results. Borer don’t damage treated timber, so most modern homes are fine. If your house was built before 1970, however, you could be in for a nasty surprise. The easiest ways to spot a borer infestation include fresh bore dust (known as frass) on the floor, and smooth-edged holes in your house boards. If this sounds familiar, it’s time to give us a call! Spider treatments
Spiders love springtime. This is the time of year when midges, small flies and tiny insects begin emerging, and many spiders redouble their web-making efforts. No one wants a house covered in webs, so we offer an exterior spider treatment that will keep your house cobweb-free for up to a year. Simply clean down the exterior of your house, and we’ll do the rest. More about spider treatments…
Spring cleaning and insect spraying
If you’re like us, and you take the opportunity afforded by this warmer weather to spring clean, then now is the ideal time to spray your interior spaces for insects. Interior spraying is best carried out after you’ve given your home a good once over, as this will ensure the residual (containing the active ingredients) adheres to the surface better, making the treatment last longer, and improving it’s effectiveness. If you’ve gone to all the effort of cleaning your windowsills, light fittings, skirting boards and ceilings, then why not give us a call to spray at the same time. That way, your house will stay fresh, clean and free of webs and fly marks all summer long, and well into the winter. More about fly treatments…
How to get rid of native cockroaches
Native cockroaches are treated all year round, but if you really want to get rid of these pesky native pests, then spraying for them in spring will give you the best results. Of course, we spray for these guys whenever they become a nuisance, but right now before it gets warmer and they breed more, is a great time to treat for this pest. More on cockroach treatments…
