Silver fish are usually associated with stored books, dictionaries, maps, cardboard boxing, etc., as the glue and the binding in the spines of the books and the seals of the boxes are a food source which they are attracted to. From there they will breed and can spread throughout the house or structure.
Depending on the infestation, the entire interior of the building may need to be treated including the roof space and sub-floor.
What you need to do prior to treatment:
- Move furniture and other items away from the walls to ensure thorough treatment
- Access to the roof space and sub-floor may be required
- Do not vacuum around the interior perimeters for at least a week following the treatment.
- Throw away any unwanted books, boxes, etc.
